Newport County boss Dean Holdsworth has laughed off a rumoured bid by mega bucks Crawley Town for former Coventry City youngster Craig Reid.
According to an internet forum and reported in the media in South Wales, Crawley Town were prepared to take Reid, who is one of the top scorers in the Conference on loan until January when a £70k move could be sorted out.
Holdsworth has laughed off the rumour which had come from a Conference Forum and said: "Craig was a reserve at Grays two years ago, it's a measure of how far he's progressed here that people are talking about him, as they were last season.
"But I can say that there isn't an ounce of truth in this link, we've had no contact and Craig is happy here, as is Sam Foley (also linked with Crawley). We are looking to build a squad here."
