Grant Holt's first goal for Norwich City against Coventry City on Saturday ended the Sky Blues 462 minute run without conceding a goal.
It was City's best run of games without letting in a goal since 2002 when under the management of Gary McAllister, Coventry went 487 minutes without goalkeeper Morten Hyldegaard conceding a goal.
The previous season, City had kept five clean sheets in a row and the run without a goal lasted 491 minutes before finally being broken by Preston North End's Richard Cresswell, a striker who has haunted the Sky Blues for many years.
In the Don Howe era of 1992, City had a run of five clean sheets. In one of the most boring periods of the club's history, the run consisted of a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace followed by four 0-0 draws (Liverpool (h), Southampton (a), Man United (h) and Norwich (h). In the following game an 83rd minute goal by Sheffield Wednesday's Viv Anderson meant Steve Ogrizovic had gone 572 minutes without conceding.
However, the record for City is sixth consecutive clean sheets in 1934.
