The young striker is on a month's loan at Marcus Law's side and Wilson is keen to impress after his debut at Crawley on Saturday.
Speaking to the Northampton Evening Telegraph, Wilson said: "Young players in the Championship need experiences like this.
"It's what you have to do. Coming out and playing games is the best way to learn and I really enjoyed it at the weekend.
"It was great from point of view to get 90 minutes under my belt because that's something I haven't done for six months or so.
"It was a good game to play in and I hope I made an impression because I obviously want to do well while I am here.
"I want to help Kettering win a few games and I am obviously hopeful that the gaffer at Coventry will be keeping tabs on me and see how I am getting on."
