In reply to the Questions And Answers Statement by Coventry City following the announcement of the annual accounts of Sky Blue Sports & Leisure Ltd, we received the following
"How wrong is it, when 50,000 + people are dragged into a row, not of their making, which has been so emotive with explosive consequences that it can make enemies of friends and family, see lives threatened, people and property attacked and divide a reasonably united body of people in ways previously unknown?
"The damage that had been done is irreparable and anything you do or say will never make up for the ructions you have caused.
"You can cover all the losses you want but those losses are just going to increase year on year, as your supporters have already started to drift away with many finding plenty of ways to fill their Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or whenever you play a game outside of Coventry and a good number of those, who are only a small percentage of the actual fan base, that do go to Sixfields which is an embarrassing ‘home’ for a club of Coventry City FC’s stature, are indicating about not wanting to continue making the seventy mile round trip beyond the end of this season.
"You talk about the need for a new stadium but the time you and your representatives in the project are taking to purchase land is deeply concerning.
"Leave it much later and like when the club finally moved into the Ricoh Arena, the need and interest in a new stadium, will have passed.
"You are hardly showing the signs of owners of a football club desperate to be 'masters of their own destiny' and it is no wonder that the accounts ‘appear to cast doubt over the club’s ability to continue as a going concern.’
