Former Coventry City forward Darren Huckerby was undoubtedly the star of the Selco Yorkshire Masters tonight at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield.
Huckerby scored twice in Leeds win over defending champions Barnsley, a match which saw former Sky Blue and Leeds captain for the night - Noel Whelan slip a disc in his back and have to watch from the sidelines.
Huckerby then scored twice in a 4-3 win over Huddersfield to send Leeds to the final against Sheffield United who had beaten a Sheffield Wedcnesday team containing former City loanee Kevin Pressman en route.
In the final, the average age of the Leeds side was six years younger than the Blades and Huckerby, still showing plenty of skill, scored four times to win the Golden Boot and Player Of The Tournament, and send Leeds in to the Grand Final in September with a 5-3 win.
