According to rumours, Huddersfield Town are the latest club to be interested in Coventry City striker Leon Clarke.
City Boss Steven Pressley is doing his best to ignore the rumours and told the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole: "Stories like this are only to be expected when you’re the leading scorer in League One and teams from the division above are trying to find a player who can make the difference to their season.
“Clubs are normally looking for centre-backs or centre-forwards at this time of year, so when you’ve got two strikers bang in form it’s inevitable there will be speculation.”
Clarke’s City contract runs until the summer of 2015 and Pressley added: “Let’s make it clear, I certainly don’t want to lose Leon Clarke.
“It would be very difficult to find a player who would score the goals he does and have such an influence on the group.
“And I believe he’s very happy here. He’s enjoying his football and, no doubt about it, he’s in the best form of his career.”
