The midfielder has been recently side-lined with an Achilles injury but had an injection and should be back in times for City's games over the festive period.
Micky Adams said: "Hughes has had an injection into his Achilles, the same sort of injection which has already worked wonders for Richard Shaw and Marcus Hall this season. Stephen had that injection on Thursday so he'll have a week doing nothing and then start training again."
