Like many of the fourteen first and reserve team players whose contract are due to expire at the end of the season,Stephen Hughes is a worried man.
The current Skipper told the CET: "I signed a one-year-deal in the summer so the club and myself could see how it would go because I hadn't played first team football for a while.
"They wanted to see that I was fit and could get in the team but there was talk before Christmas of extending my contract, although I haven't seen a new contract or any figures on the table yet, but the club have got other priorities at the moment.
"Obviously we need to get a manager on board and that has thrown everything up in the air a bit. If someone new comes in then I will have to prove myself to him so we will have to wait and see what happens.
"But I am not the only one. There are quite a few of us who are out of contract in the summer, but it is a busy time for the chairman and board at the moment.
"But if they come back to me and want me then of course I will be happy to talk."
