Meanwhile Onandi Lowe has appeared in court charged with attempting to possess a class A drug with intent to supply.
Christopher Donnellan, prosecuting, told Northampton Crown Court: "Probably for money, Onandi Lowe agreed to assist in the chain of supply of what turned out to be 1.17kg (2½lb) of cocaine.
"His part, in this country, was to receive that package and pass it on to the next person. He was part of that chain of supply which involved other people not known.
"The package was intercepted and police were watching what happened to it.
"As this package passed through Miami on its way to this country the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) at Miami were alerted to this box by a dog. It appeared to have a false bottom and the drug detection dog was alerted to the box.
"The drugs were replaced with an innocuous substance and hidden under the caps. Courier documents were endorsed as though the box was being shipped as usual but the package was actually sent by diplomatic bag to police for analysis. The box was delivered by a courier with police watching."
