After a month of uncertainty,Stephen Hughes yesterday signed a three year deal with the Sky Blues. Offers from other clubs came to nothing and the skipper and part-time keeper who has been a big hit with players and City supporters alike in his first season after joining City from Charlton last year as well as being awarded Players Player Of The Year and Player Of The Year at the club's end of season awards opted to lead the Sky Blues in to a new era.
Hughes Signs
City Chairman Mike McGinnity said to the club website: "This is great news for everybody associated with Coventry City Football Club. "We signed Stephen at a time when he hadn't enjoyed the best of fortunes but safe in the knowledge that he was a quality player and I think he demonstrated that last season.
"He is a great player and one who Micky Adams was especially keen to keep hold of. I'm delighted he has signed a new deal and I look forward to seeing him in a Coventry City shirt for the next three years."
