Coventry City manager Tony Mowbray has said that Stephen Hunt is an option for the squad to face Burton Albion on Saturday.
Hunt played for 84 minutes of City U21's 2-0 defeat at Crewe on Monday and displayed some neat touches and made some telling passes.
“He has impressed on the training pitch and I can see he’s a very talented young man," Mowbray said to the Coventry Telegraph. "It’s a question of balancing it really but Stephen is very much in my thoughts.
"Whether he has to wait and be a bit more patient we’ll see but in terms of physicality and fitness levels, in my opinion, he’s ready to play a part if asked to.
“I wouldn’t worry about him not being up to speed because he looks a bundle of energy. I have watched the whole of the Under-21 game back from Monday and he plays nice forward passes, brings experience, keeps the ball and makes good decisions.
"So he’s a good option for us, I would have to say.
“And I think the big positive is that he already understands how we want to play and where to be in certain positions, so he’s developed very quickly.”
