Coventry City manager Steven Pressley has said that he had did not have to say too much to his players at half-time to get the reaction he wanted in the second half of a 4-2 win against Peterborough United.

"I have never really had to say too much at half-time as the players have really bought into our system," Pressley said to the Press Association.

"I had to say a few more words than normal at half-time. It was not a discussion about tactics it was really about mentality. And it worked because their mentality was fantastic in the second half.

"I have always given the my players Christmas Day off since I became a manager. I played under managers who gave you the day off and I always came into Boxing Day feeling good.

"There is nothing scientific that tells you it helps bringing players in on Christmas Day. I thought that by the players relaxing and spending time with their families, it would take their minds off what was a big game.

"Their response was outstanding and it was a very big win for us."
