I Didn't Want To Be Sent To Coventry

Steve Jones who signed for Burnley after leaving relegated Crewe Alexandra this week has revealed why he rejected the interest shown him by the Sky Blues.

Speaking to Sky Sports,Jones said: "Coventry and QPR were also after me but I didn't fancy moving down south. "Preston were interested, however they only wanted to make a decision once they knew what was happening in the play-offs.

"I thought I was going to sign for them in January, but that never materialised."

"I couldn't wait that long. I wanted a deal struck, and I'm delighted to sign for Burnley."
