Curtis Wynter was a proud man when he made his Coventry City debut in the 2-0 FA Cup win against Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday.
"I never thought I was going to play the full 90 minutes. I thought I would be brought off after 70 but the manager kept me on and it was an absolutely amazing experience," said the 17 year old to the club website.
"I hope I took the chance the manager gave me quite well because the FA Cup is a big competition and the important thing was making sure we got through to the next round.
"I spoke to Gregor Rioch, the academy manager, beforehand and he was telling me his experiences of the cup but to actually play was an absolutely amazing experience."
Coventry City boss Chris Coleman was full of praise for the defender. "We get some of the Academy kids up each week to work with us and Curtis has a great temperment," said the City boss to the CT.
"Curtis has got that temperment that even if he makes a mistake he focuses on the job and moves onto the next thing and that's important if you are a young defender coming into a fixture like that when anything could happen.
"He kept his cool and made some good decisions. He made one or two mistakes but that is going to happen and I was really pleased with him."
