Coventry City manager Steven Pressley was delighted with the response he got from Frank Nouble in the 2-0 win against Plymouth Argyle.
Pressley substituted Nouble when Lee Burge was sent off in the 2-1 defeat to Worcester City and named him on the bench for tonight's JPT tie. However, Nouble came on and scored a second goal for the Sky Blues to book their place in the Area Semi-Finals.
Speaking about Nouble to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, Pressley said: “He didn’t start tonight because I haven’t been happy with his work-rate in the last couple of games.
“I had him in to explain the standards of this club; he didn’t respond in the right manner at the weekend so he was left out.
“Tonight we got what I expect from him because there’s so much potential there, so much ability. He scored a tremendous goal which is what he’s capable of but that’s the frustration – it’s no coincidence that his good performances here have been when he’s worked hard.
“In terms of ability he’s not a League One player but he needs to adapt and get to the levels I expect from every Coventry player.”
