Coventry City midfielder Danny Swanson has said that he hates being a substitute.
Speaking to Andy Turner of the Coventry Telegraph, Swanson who came on at Colchester to help City record their first away league win of the season said: “I was seen as an impact player in my younger days when I was 19/20 at Dundee United and it’s not nice to be tagged that.
“I hate being a sub, like most players, but I try to do my thing when I go on. The manager told me to try to make a difference when I went on, which he told me in the previous game but I didn’t manage to do it. But thankfully it worked against Colchester.
“But I’m not going to moan and grumble about it, I’m going to show on the pitch that I should be starting. I work hard in training every day and will show the manager I deserve to play."
