Lukas Jutkiewicz has said that he loved his time at Coventry City.
The forward who yesterday completed his move to Middlesbrough for a fee in the region of £1.5m, less Everton’s cut, and told the CT’s Andy Turner: "I was often asked during the tons of speculation if it affected me and I said no because I am a professional who is paid to do a job.
“I always gave everything I had when I went out onto the pitch and I am sure the fans appreciate that.
“I’m looking forward to seeing friends that I’ve not had chance to say good-bye to properly.
"It happens quite a lot in football where someone leaves and it just so happens that the next game is against the club they’ve just left.
“I wish the fans and the club the best of luck over the coming months.
"They have been through a lot of tough times, the fans especially, and have been brilliant in getting behind the team, particularly away from home.
“I have loved my time at Coventry who have provided me with a platform to play at Championship level.
I made a lot of good friends there and there’s a lot of good people at the club who I am going to miss but this is an opportunity that I couldn’t really turn down.”
