Coventry City Legend Tommy Hutchison has been talking about his time at Coventry City.

The Scottish winger, who has been part of Bristol City's Football In The Community scheme for a number of years, was a hero to many City supporters (ourselves included) during his nine years at Highfield Road in which he made 335 appearances and scored thirty goals.

Speaking to Andy Turner of the CT, Hutch said:"I always thought I would finish my career at Coventry City. "I was disappointed to leave but I had some wonderful times at Coventry.

"I love the old ground. "I liked playing on the away side of the ground and getting into that bottom corner. I joined at a good time with Colin Stein and we just clicked but the player I probably most enjoyed playing alongside was Willie Carr.

"I was very lucky in my career and was never barracked at any of the clubs I played for. "Having the supporters behind you is half the game," said Hutchison, who aged 59 was the best player on the pitch in the Micky Gynn Testimonial. "It means you can relax and play well because you know they are going to cheer you but that was the player I was.

"I never asked to leave and was surprised when I was sold. Gordon Milne sold me when I was 33 or 34. I had been to America and missed a few games and when I came back a couple of the younger lads had done well.

"I could never understand that I wasn't good enough for Coventry City but was good enough for Manchester City. But I had some great times at the club and still hold fond memories of my time there."
