Coventry City manager Mark Robins feels that he made the right decision to sack Richard Shaw.
The former City defender had been something of a spare part following the appointment of Robins and his assistant Steve Taylor and to many City supporters, the decision on Monday to sack Shaw, who had been brought in by Andy Thorn and replaced him for five matches before Mark Robins was appointed was not a surprise.
Speaking to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire, Mark Robins said about the sacking of Shaw; "It wasn't an easy decision by any stretch of the imagination in terms of Richard, because I liked him.
"But what I need to do is make sure I get the right people in the right places for the job that we want to do and the roles that I want fulfilling.
"That's the sole motivation behind it. "We want to take the club forward as quickly as we possibly can."
