Jack Finch has said that he never thought he would be doing so well in Coventry City's first team.
Finch, another product of City's Academy, told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: I never thought I’d be doing this well, playing this much, but I’m really enjoying it. .
“I played a lot of Under-21s last season so I wanted to make the next step up but I didn’t think it would come so soon this season.
“I obviously have to keep working hard but now I’ve got my chance I just want to keep going. Quite a few of the Academy lads have broken through and are still coming through and it’s nice to see so many young lads doing well. Obviously James Maddison has just signed his first contract and Dion Kelly-Evans was on the bench again on Saturday, so it’s good.
“I have a lot to thank all the coaches through the age groups, especially Rich Stevens and Gregor Rioch who have really helped and encouraged me to progress.
“I’ve been around the first team for a while now but I still feel like one of the youngsters and I know I’ve still got a lot of hard work ahead of me to keep progressing.”
