I Thought We Could Beat Norwich - Boothroyd

Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has revealed as to why with the score at 1-1 against Norwich City on Saturday, his ten men went for the victory rather than bolting the door and settling for a point.
Speaking to the CT, the City manager said:
"Yes I was tempted to shut up shop because a point would have been a good effort in the circumstances. "But I really believed we could win it which is why I was so bold with the tactics.
"Our groundsman John Ledwidge and his staff worked very hard to get the game on so I thought sod it, let's have a go, let's do our bit and see if we can give the fans a win for Christmas.
"It was a gamble which didn't pay off in the end, but they didn't really cause us problems from open play and they got the winner from a corner.
"That's very disappointing because normally we're really good at that - one of the best in the league - while statistically they're one of the worst.
"We got punished because we didn't do the things we practice every day in training.
"It was a really naive error but the player concerned held his hand up and I admire that, so I shouted at him for a bit but now we move on."
