Coventry City defender Cyrus Christie has said that he wants to add goals to his repertoire of skills.
Christie scored on Saturday against Arlesey Town but whilst he was with City's Academy, he was a regular goalscorer.
Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Christie, who was the CNS Young Player Of The Year last season, said about goalscoring: “Coming through the ranks I used to be top goal scorer all the time.
“I played centre-back for a while but I always liked to get forward so they put me to right-back to enable me to do that.
“Saturday was my first goal for a year and a half but I won’t be getting too excited about it against a lower league team. I would rather be scoring against League One sides, and hopefully I can get a few this season.
“I have spoken to Lee Carsley and a few of the coaches about adding goals to my game because I get in some really good positions but I usually look to pass it rather than shoot, so hopefully I can get a few now.
“My best tally as a defender in a season was five or six and I’d be more than happy to do that this season and I think everyone needs to pitch in with goals from all over the pitch.”
