Coventry City midfielder Blair Turgott has said that he wants to show what he is about.
Turgott, who came on to score and give the Sky Blues a victory at Peterborough said to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “When you get your opportunity you have to show what you’re about, and hopefully I did that today.
“I’m a confident player and I just needed to get my opportunity.
“It gets a bit frustrating when you don’t come on in big games but the manager just told me not to get my head down and to keep working hard and showing him I am worthy of playing and starting and stuff.
Turgott was due to play for City U21's versus Millwall last Monday but did not and said: “I was ill but the gaffer did, naturally, ask me what was going on? I asked him when I was going to get my opportunity because I’m champing at the bit.
“But he assured me that I will get my chance so when I went on I just wanted to impress and push the team on. He spoke to me just before I went on and he told me to try to get on the ball and get us a goal.
“I just want to show what I am about and hopefully this is my time now.”
