Coventry City midfielder Gary Deegan has admitted that he wants to continue his run in the first team.
Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, Deegan said: "It's not been easy coming back after 18 months.
"You have to find your fitness and your confidence and you can't be selfish - you can't expect to barge yourself into the team after being out for so long.
"It's one of those things you have to deal with. You can't dwell on things because it is a short career and it doesn't do any good to worry about the ifs and buts. Its hard work but I am starting to feel myself and I am happy at the moment.
"I'm enjoying playing alongside Olly, starting to get a nice little understanding there, but there's some competition for starting places now.
"As far as I am concerned I want to stay in the team so I've got to perform as well as I can and help Coventry out of the this mess we're in."
