Coventry City defender Richard Wood has said that he gives it all when he plays and that is what fans want.
Speaking to Lee Corden for an article which appeared in Coventry City's match day programme against Sheffield Wednesday yesterday, Wood said:"I think fans just want performances from players. "Supporters will recognise if you are doing a good job on the pitch and get behind you.
"I always give 100%. If I am having a bad game, you won't see me shy away from anything - I'll always get on with it and I'll always be committed and hard working.
"I might not be the most technically gifted player but I want to give it all and I think that is what fans want.
"Me and James McPake are from that mould - we're old fashioned centre halves. There is no point messing about when you can just clear it and let the forward players do the creative stuff.
"I'm not a fancy player and won't pretend to be one. There is a time and a place for that sort of stuff and it's not usually the time when the ball is anywhere near me!"
