Coventry City defender Ryan Haynes has said that he would like more appearances for City's first team.
Haynes, who is at the end of his first year of playing for City U18's, had just broken into the U21 side when he was selected for first team duty against Brentford due to the suspension of Jordan Stewart.
“I was really nervous but I got over it in the end. I found out on Thursday when we did some shape work in training and found it quite hard to sleep to be honest with you," the 17 year old told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.
“The other lads helped me a lot and I thank them for that because I wouldn’t have given the performance I did without them around me and felt I got more confident the longer the game went on.
“I never expected to get my first team debut this early but football is full of surprises. The manager said he was pleased with me which is nice to hear.
“I would like to stay involved but Blair Adams is coming back from injury and Jordan Stewart back from suspension as well, so there are two left-backs ahead of me, so if I don’t play again this season I’ll know why.
“But it has really given me a taste to be involved and hopefully I can come back in the summer and do well in pre-season.”
