I'd Love To Be Playing This At The Ricoh - Adams

Former Coventry City player and manager Micky Adams has said that he would have loved to have been bringing his Port Vale side to face the Ricoh Arena on Sunday.

Instead, Adams, who could be a contender for City Supporter of The Year, the amount of times he has seen the Sky Blues this season, will be taking his team to Sixfields for a League One fixture.

Speaking to Port Vale's official website, Adams said: “I have been on record in saying that Coventry City shouldn’t be playing at Northampton. The fans have made their feelings known by staying away.

“It will be a bit of a strange atmosphere and it will be strange playing Coventry there. I would really have loved to have gone to the Ricoh0, I had some good memories there.

“It is a game we must approach in a professional manner and get on with it whatever the gate.

“At the beginning of the season they had the points deduction that they had to make up, they did that quite quickly.

“They looked as though they had got two in-form strikers in Leon Clarke and Callum Wilson. They were causing teams big problems and then the sticky patch has coincided with Leon Clarke being sold to Wolves and Callum Wilson being out injured.

“They have not quite replicated the goals for tally, but Callum is back fit and he is a real handful. He has been one of the finds of the season.“He has real pace that stretches teams and causes teams problems and he is certainly one we have to keep an eye on on Sunday.”
