Coventry City forward Clive Platt has said that he spoke to Lee Carsley about whether he should retire or not.
Speaking to Sky Blue Player, Platt who has been struggling with back injuries this season said: "I spoke to (Lee) Carsley who obviously retired last year and a few other players who I have played with throughout my career, and everyone has said to me, you'll know when.
"You will play for as long as you can but there will come a point when you know you have had enough or not representing yourself the way you should be.
"I played with Teddy Sheringham at Colchester in his last year as a professional player and towards the end of that season, he knew he was ready to retire.
"Despite him at the start of the season, he would have took a contract anywhere to play football, regardless of the money. He just wanted to carry on playing football.
"But he just knew when enough was enough. I think I am an asset for the team and will continue to be so I can't see myself retiring soon."
