The 37 year who joined from Portsmouth for the rest of the season, is expected to make his City debut against Middlesbrough on Saturday and told the CT’s Andy Turner: “I keep myself very fit but I can only try to show what I can do on the pitch.
“It doesn’t matter what I say to anyone, I would rather do my talking on the pitch and prove to the manager and the fans that I can play week in and week out.
“I started the season with a couple of games and then had an Achilles injury that required a bit of treatment but I have been training for the last ten weeks and been involved in the squad at Portsmouth.
"And I’ve played in a couple of friendly games as well.
“Yes I’ll bring the average age up quite a bit but hopefully I can bring an extra edge and help the team make the most of their talent.
“I’d like to play as many games as I can here and I will make sure I am ready if the manager wants me to play on Saturday when I hope to get myself back in the routine again.”
