I'm not going to let this 'true sky blue' tosh bother me - I don't need to fit someone else's definition of what it takes to be a 'real' city supporter. Whether the powers that be think I'm a real fan matters not - I know I am, and I'll still be one long after they have gone.
I'm Already A True Sky Blue
I was there in '87. In fact I was first there in '77. I was there last week and I'll be there next week. I've seen us beat Man Utd and lose to Northampton. I've been in a crowd of nearly 30,000, and a crowd of barely 5,000. I've been to virtually every ground in this sodding country at one time or another to watch us.
I've seen stars like Ian Wallace and Robbie Keane and shite like Leigh Jenkinson and Jim McInally. I've seen us win, draw, lose, lose again and then lose some more. I we win I'm almost unbearable. If we lose I'm completely unbearable. If I'm there I shout and sing (and swear) and if I'm not, I'm scrabbling around trying to find the score.
Supporting City has made me ecstatic, almost suicidal and all points in between - just like everyone else.

I don't have to buy a new shirt every year, I don't have to 'stand up if I love City', I don't have to go to every game (though I admire the dedication of those who do) and I don't have to be officially endorsed by the people who run the club to be a 'real' fan.
And True Sky Blue isn't a title I need to pay for. I've already got it thanks.
