Coventry City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has said that he is enjoying playing on the right side of midfield.

Speaking to the CT's Andy Turner, the Icelander said: "I'm enjoying it at the moment, playing on the right. "Although I would prefer to play central midfield because I think that's my best positiion and its where I play for Iceland, the team are doing well at the moment.

"And if the gaffer wants me to play on the right, I'm happy to do a job there. It is hard to get used to the position and hard trying to play like David Bell or Gary McSheffrey but I'm trying my best.

"I think I can play in every position on the pitch - perhaps not in goal - because I'm an athlete and I should be able to do what I'm asked to do.

"The gaffer told me 'listen you might have to play somehere else this season as I am bringing in another midfielder' but he told me 'wherever you play with your quality, I think you can get fifteen goals' so that built up my confidence."

So can he get that target? Gunnarsson said:"It will be hard for me because I only got two in my first season and one last year but anything is possible if you work hard.

"But I have already got three just like Lukas, Platty, Ben and Gary and that's a good thing about the team this season. Last year, it was Leon Best and Clinton Morrison who were getting nearly all the goals with a few from Sammy Clingan.

"Platty has been saying that he'll be the first to get four but he's injured at the moment so perhaps it will be me but it is good if you have players all over the pitch who can score."
