The striker was sent home before the Barnsley game, looking in a bad way due to a virus.
Eastwood came on a substitute against Swansea and Blackpool and played for a City Reserve side in a 1-0 victory over Hereford United on Wednesday.
"I came on for the last bit at Blackpool and I felt nice and sharp and I need to make sure I maintain that because if the manager decides to swap things around a bit I want to feel ready if I'm needed so I can score goals," said Eastwood to the club website.
"I played in a reserve game this week to make sure I stay on top of my fitness but a full pre-season has helped me this year and I'm feeling sharp and ready should the gaffer decide to put me in."
