I'm Keeping My Options Open - Carsley

Former Coventry City midfielder Lee Carsley has said that he is keeping his options open and his phone on.

So far, the midfielder who was made captain by Aidy Boothroyd before missing a large chunk of the season through injury, has not had any offers either to play for a new team or to player/coaching role.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Carsley said: "It's important that you get the right offer, as opposed to just playing for the sake of it. I have completed my coaching badges so I want to try and make sure I can do a bit of coaching as well. It's about keeping my options open.

"I'm not ruling anything out but I don't want to say I'll only work in the Premiership, or the Championship, or Leagues One or Two. I'm open-minded and as long as it's the right offer, I'll go with it. Then I can start the next stage of my career, learn off a manager and hopefully keep playing a little bit as well.

"I don't want to go into a club that's going to be struggling at the wrong end of a table. I want to go somewhere with ambition, that is on its way up. Hopefully I will be able to add something to them."
