Coventry City captain Sammy Clingan has said that he is not thinking about contracts.
The midfielder is out of contract in June but has been offered a new deal reportedly worth £8k a week and his representatives are in talks with the club.
Speaking to the CT's Alan Poole, Clingan said: “I don’t really want to be thinking about that at the moment because I don’t want that distraction.
“I want to keep my head down and concentrate on playing football because we’re in a very difficult situation.
“We all know what the Championship is like – any team can beat anybody else as Doncaster proved against Southampton the other day – but we really do need to stop making those mistakes.
“Whether it’s lack of concentration, I’m not too sure, but we look at the videos week-in, week-out and it’s horrible.
“It always seems to be like that when you’re down at the bottom of the table but we’ve got a bit of experience here as well as having a lot of young players and we’re all responsible for what goes on.
“We’re all in this together but we need to start winning games – that’s the be-all and end-all.”
