I'm Still The Main Man - Morrison

Coventry City striker Clinton Morrison has said that he is the main striker at the Sky Blues and any new strikers coming in will have to get past him to get a regular shirt.

"I am normally good for 15-20 goals a season, so even though I was the clear favourite I feel I should have got more goals," said Morrison, who finished with City's final goal of the season at Ipswich, to the CT.

"I have got self belief and whoever the manager brings in, whatever striker they get, I will put on record now that I will beat them.

"It can be anyone! I know that as long as I play as many games as them that I will get 20 goals because that's what I believe.

"I fell a bit short this season and I know that earlier on in the season I wasn't really hitting the target but now I have got my feet under the table here and I am ready to go next season.

"I need that competition, 100 per cent, because when you have got someone by your side and you are neck and neck, it drives you on.

"It happened for me at Palace when I played alongside Mikael Forssell - the chairman kept saying, 'I bet you don't get top goal scorer,' and he was probably saying the same to the other guy.

"He had 18 and I had 20 at the time and he finished with 20 and I got 23 or 24 so you need competition.

"It's not competition where the other striker doesn't want to pass to you, but good natured stuff to keep you both on your toes.

"I fell three short of my target and I am disappointed not to have got that because I could have probably have got a few more to be honest.

"But considering where we finished in the league table I think I would have taken 12.

"We did create a few chances when we had our full team and I should have probably scored more then, but towards the end I don't think we created enough chances and we played with one up front for a few games.

"hopefully next season we will get the service we need and I go on record as saying I will definitely beat the 12 goals I got this year."
