Q&A

ISBV: On How did your deal to sign for the Sky Blues originally come about?

GD: I had just finished a 2 week trial with Kilmarnock when my agent got in touch to say Coventry were interested in me. Once I heard that, I was straight over for a trial and they said they wanted to sign me up immediately!

I was a guest in the Directors box with Ray Ranson for the Notts Forest game on the 28th December and I signed a 3 year deal in early January and will be at the Ricoh until June 2013.

ISBV: How are you settling in at Coventry off the pitch?

GD: I'm settling in fine. I have my own apartment now in Leamington Spa. A lot of the players live around there.

ISBV: Who amongst the team do you get on with best?

GD: I get on very well with Carl Baker and Michael McIndoe. In particular Carl because we both started at the same time. He also picks me up for training as I don't have a car yet!

ISBV: How do you rate Chris Coleman as manager?

GD: Great manager, he's very experienced and very encouraging. He wants to get the best from his players.

ISBV: Have you set yourself any personal targets/goals for the remainder of the season?

GD: I would like to score at least 5 goals and get more game time.

ISBV: Do you think reaching the Play-Off's is a realistic target this season?

GD: Yes, why not! It should be our aim.

ISBV: What Premier League and League of Ireland team do you support?

GD: The Red Devils and Shel's. The rest of my family support Leeds!

ISBV: What did you think of Irelands performance against Brazil recently?

GD: Only got to see the first half. I thought it was the best they have played in a long time. Less said about the second half the better!

ISBV: How do you think Ireland will fair in Euro 2012 qualification campaign?

GD: Yeah, should do well and will qualify.

ISBV: Has Trappitoni come knocking on your door yet? (You were FAI schools international of the year in 2005)

GD: No, not yet! My goal would be to get a few caps under my belt by 2012.

Gary was on a 6.30am flight out the next morning and straight to Ryton for training. So on that note, we presented Gary with a club polo shirt and plan to meet him again after the Preston game when we do our presentation.
