"I think our supporters - and this is not me being patronising - have been absolutely terrific," said City's assistant manager.
"They've had to contend with five difficult years since the club came out of the Premiership and to see an influx of about 6,000 or 7,000 supporters compared with last year is fantastic.
"We're making the Ricoh a fortress and the fans have played their part in that."
