Speaking to Sky Sports, Ipswich boss Roy Keane said: "I think you always have to be on the lookout when you hear about players that might be available.
"We've got a lot of games coming up, we're obviously still in the cup so we're always looking.
"We're in talks with a club and a player at the moment and we might have news on that tomorrow fingers crossed."
When asked if the new player being reported as Sunderland's Jack Colbeck would be in the squad for Saturday's game against Coventry City, Keane replied: "There's a good chance."
