Coventry City will be without keeper Danny Ireland until October.
The Australian keeper who played well in last season's pre-season matches and would have featured this time round as Dimi Konstantopolous would have been allowed to leave, had to have an emergency bowel operation in Australia. This has caused the keeper who made his City debut against Aldershot to lose over two stone in weight, much of it muscle.
"Danny had an operation in Australia on his bowel which was twisted or infected and he has lost a lot of weight," said Chris Coleman to the CT.
"He is well on the road to recovery now but he is not going to be fit and ready to play again until September/ October.
"He lost something like 13 kilos which is a lot of weight to lose, especially when you are not carrying any to start with.
"He will be fine and back to normal in a couple of months. He needs to get his strength back. " We are monitoring his diet and he is spending a lot of time with the medical team at the moment, but he is not yet ready to train."
All at Covsupport News Service wish Danny a speedy recovery.
