Peter Ridsdale the former Chairman of Leeds United and Barnsley is reported to be speaking to a Championship side with a view to a major involvement at Boardroom level.
Considering Coventry City's financial plight with debts to its directors and bank of over £25m, City could be a prime target for a man who paid the price for gambling that Leeds United could make it into the Champions League only for the Yorkshire team to fail miserably.
With the club also one place above the relegation zone and Gillingham snapping at their heels, new manager Micky Adams certainly needs funds for new players and the Sky Blues would certainly welcome any outside investment.
Although Wrexham and Blackpool have been mentioned as possible targets, Ridsdale is believed to be looking at a higher placed club and a move to Coventry should he prove to have suitable finances, may be a tempting proposition.
