Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox has demanded an improvment from his side after the 3-2 home defeat against Coventry City.
Speaking to the Mansfield Town website, Cox said: "I think we looked fluent going forward but conceded some sloppy goals at the back.
“We conceded two penalties and an own goal which isn’t a good sign heading into the start of a new season.
“It was an entertaining game for the supporters but it’s not what we are about, and it definitely needs improving.
“I’m concerned that we conceded some sloppy goals. I don’t want to take away anything from Coventry - they are a good League One club and a big club, but we want to raise the bar against any team we face.
