It Should Have Been A Penalty - Pressley

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley was fuming that his side were denied a penalty in the 1-0 loss to Notts County.

Pressley's opinion was that Gary Madine was definitely brought down late in the game whilst Referee Mr Bull seemed to be of the opinion that Madine went down looking for a spot kick and waved away the appeals.

A fuming Pressley told the Coventry Telegraph: “I’m not making excuses but I’ve seen it again and it was undoubtedly a penalty kick.

“I’ve looked at the footage and it’s 100-per-cent – not even a doubt. The reaction of their players tells everything.

“I was disappointing with the officiating today but especially that decision. It was a moment we’d worked extremely hard for and it was the least we deserved – it was a big call and he failed to make it. I spoke to him on the pitch and said to him that I was disappointed. That’s an understatement – I’m extremely angry. But I’ve already been in front of the FA once so I need to be careful what I say.”
