Coventry City manager Steven Pressley said that the game at Crawley Town should have been abandoned.
The rain came down heavy throughout the game and there were large puddles all over the pitch.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Pressley said: “I don’t want to make this an excuse because obviously the pitch was the same for both sides and I’m much more annoyed by the fact that we conceded two setpiece goals.
“But the fact is that conditions was treacherous in the second half and there was no way you could play proper football on it.
“The fourth official approached me and asked me what I thought and I said I didn’t think it should go on. But after he spoke to the referee they decided they should continue
“I suppose it might have been different if it had been 0-0 and I can understand the referee taking that into consideration, but I was asked a straight question and I gave a straight answer.”
