Southampton boss Nigel Adkins was pleased with The Saints 2-1 FA Cup victory at Coventry City this afternoon.
Speaking to the Daily Echo, Adkins said: “The big thing is it’s a great win for the football club.
“We’ve just lost two games and I don’t think the performances were that bad but the results have gone against us.
“To win this game was important for us all and we’ve got to try and endeavour to make sure there is a pathway there for the youngsters, deal with injuries and suspensions that every club has so I never use that as an excuse, but this is a great victory so well done, we got into the hat.”
