Coventry City manager Andy Thorn feels that City’s fate is in their own hands.
With all the teams at the bottom of the Championship table now having played 39 matches, Thorn said to the CT’s Andy Turner: “It’s a level playing field now with everyone with seven games to play and it’s every man for themselves.
“Two really important things have happened in recent weeks.
"One was that we got back on form and started picking up points and two, once we had done that it put a little bit more pressure on others with games in hand.
"And I think we have come out of it a lot better off than I thought we might.
“It’s in our own hands and we’re going to see some funny results between now and the end of the season – games that you might think will go a certain way will go the opposite – but at the end of the day we have come out of it from being where we were to being one point adrift with 21 points to play for.
“We have got to maintain the form we are on, because we are in decent form, and keep picking up points.
"There will be a game where we will all come unstuck, I’m sure of it but that will be the same for all of the teams battling down there with us.
“As sure as eggs is eggs there will be a game that bites us on the backside but that will happen to every team down there.
“It’s just how we play our cards really.
"We’ve got to keep doing what we’re doing, keep our nerve and keep believing in ourselves and give it a right good blast between now and the end of the season.”
