Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that it is up to the young players who featured at Morecambe as to how they progress.
Jonson Harris, Cyrus Christie, Michael Quirke, Gael Birgirimana, Connor Thomas and Connor Grogan were all named on the bench for Tuesday night's cup tie with Harris and Christie getting on.
Speaking to the CT, Aidy Boothroyd, who has watched the last two U18's pre-season games, said: "One of the pleasing aspects of the Morecambe was that it proved to the young lads that they will get their opportunity if they deserve it.
"You have to put them in a position where they will be stretched, and now they have had a little taste of it, the expectation will go back to the youth team.
"It's up to them now - whether they get all Billy Bigtime and start walking around town with the toilet bag under their arm and a pebble in their shoe, thinking they've arrived or whether they get their heads down.
