Jeffers Bid Fails

Like Micky Adams before him, Iain Dowie, has according to the People Newspaper,failed in a bid to sign Francis Jeffers. The forward who has played for Everton,Arsenal,Charlton and Blackburn would only be allowed to leave Ewood Park for £750,000.

With the takeover not yet completed and Dowie with no budget for players, the Northern Irishman had to concede defeat. Ipswich Town now look favourites for the signature of a player who once cost £8m.
