The former Bradford and Wigan man had been in charge at Pride Park for fifty matches but has seen his side slump out of the Premier League and now lie 18th in the Championship table.
Coventry City travel to Pride Park on Saturday January 31st. Tickets for the game are due to go on sale on January 12th.
