Former Coventry City Manager and Chairman Jimmy Hill has been honoured by the League Managers Association for services to football.
The Warwick based LMA have recognised Hill for his contribution in a wide range of roles including player, union leader, coach, manager, match official, director and chairman, Football League Chairman, as well as television executive, presenter and analyst.
Hill, now 82, will have a statue at the Ricoh Arena to mark his triumphs at Coventry City and Joe Elliott on behalf of the Jimmy Hill Statue Committee said to tbhe club website: "The word legend is much over-used these days but when it comes to this man, legend is an understatement.
"I was honoured to accept the club's inaugural Outstanding Achievement award on Jimmy's behalf at the end of season dinner recently and I think the fact that the club are choosing to celebrate him helped earn the recognition of the LMA in this way.
"Not only did he revolutionise this great football club; he was years ahead of his time in changing professional football forever.
“His legacy to football cannot be overstated and many of the things we take for granted today were innovations by this wonderful figure."
