The striker, who left City for Sunderland, played on loan at Bristol City for most of last season after his wages became a problem for cash strapped Southampton.

Coventry kid Iyseden Christie is close to a deal to play for Hibernians of Malta. The striker was released by Stevenage Borough at the end of last season and Christie had been training with Coventry Sphinx FC in pre-season to keep up his match fitness levels.
